I saw this when it first aired, and simply had to watch it again. Gay or straight, Tim Gunn is the man.

Oh, you beautiful, articulate man.

@sophiemanuelle: I think “classy sophisticate” is more accurate than “very sensitive”.

He’s a very sensitive man, super talented… and honest, great interview, most because of him than the interviewer

@wallynewcar what r u talking about. she was the most real interviewer i’ve heard in awhile.

Good questions!

she is a nervous interviewer. Tim would be laying down the deepest thought, or idea and there would be like, no pause, and she’d ask some other question, ‘topic change’. OMG! so hard to listen to. ….her.

I am gay and I object to the idea that simply because Tim Gunn is gay he must know what everyone should wear. Guess what, Tim- i love wearing my mink coat and will continue. I also think you look like a cadaver in a coffin- grim not gay.

Gay marraige is not about freedom of speech – no one is telling you can’t voice your opinion on whether you think it is right or not. It is about equal rights and how homosexuals feel as though they are second class citizens b/c they do not have the same rights as the rest of us. Could you look at a gay sibling or family member and tell them to their face that you dont think they deserve the same rights as you? I myself could not do that to someone I care about.

Yea I’m pretty darn liberal and that’s something I can’t really agree with. I do agree there is a HUGE bias but I also agree that you’re confusing having unconditional love for someone with having to adopt and welcome their beliefs which you just can’t on all issues. Doesn’t mean you have to hate them for it and believe me (I know) with kids some issues can make you boil and I won’t agree, but it doesn’t mean I won’t love them with my soul. It just isn’t true.

Yea that’s not the point I was making. I can agree with some things you said though. Alot of people are bias, I agree. But the the condition of loving someone should be unconditional. But the word “unconditional” shouldn’t be mistaken with having to agree with what they do and their lifestyle. That’s the error I’m pointing out. You could love someone so much you’d give your life for them.. that’s unconditional. But you don’t have to agree with gay marriage.

Yea homosexuality is very real but I don’t think that’s the point he’s making. Some people disagree with gay marriage and that’s ok with me. I happen to be ok with it. But to say that loving someone and believing in gay marriage HAVE to go hand in hand isn’t true. I happen to respect both sides of the argument. Maybe many people do have a bias, but point being it’s not correct to say they HAVE to go together because loving someone doesn’t mean having to agree with their lifestyles.

Well, you said you “can’t” have a gay friend whom you love without believing in it and that they don’t go together and then just now that it isn’t impossible to do. I personally can and some (I will emphasize some) do too. But I do agree that it is far and few as far as people who don’t have a bias. I totally agree with you.
3-7-2010 at 15:21:43 from 0.0.0.0
I don’t feel there’s an error in logic seeing as homosexuality is real. People who are unbiased are few and far between. What you’re saying makes sense….but I feel that few people actually disagree with gay marriage or civil unions without holding some sort of negative bias. It’s human.
I think that someone “loving” a gay friend while not supporting gay marriage or civil unions is more of an idealistic thought. Though not impossible.

Yea I totally agree with Celeron917. I actually have no problem with gay marriage but it isn’t true that you can’t love someone who is gay without having to believe in gay marriage. Totally untrue. And if someone disagrees with gay marriage, so what. As long as it’s not hateful towards the person, it’s freedom of speech folks.
3-7-2010 at 15:21:43 from 0.0.0.0
I think to say that you can’t love or care about a gay person without believing in gay marriage is a really big error in logic. If I know, love and care about someone that believes in polygamy doesn’t mean I have to believe in polygamy. Also I think people confuse disagreeing with gay marriage as “hate”. It’s not… You see bumper stickers with anti-religious remarks and yet that’s not considered hate it’s “freedome of speech”. Like I said, my gay friend knows that and we’re ok and best friends
3-7-2010 at 15:21:43 from 0.0.0.0
Actually my best friend is gay. He knows clearly that I just don’t agree with gay marriage. People seem to confuse that with “hate”. It’s my opinion and it’s freedom of speech and he knows and respects that. He has issues he disagrees with me about also and I respect that. So to say they can’t go together is simply not true.

It’s never a surprise when they are hate filled comments on here. Welcome to youtube.
You can’t truly have a gay friend that you love or care about and not believe in gay marriage or civil unions. The two simply don’t go together.
The last point is that when you define someone negatively you have just done an amazing job at defining yourself.
